Terms of Service

Last updated: April 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using TrialBase (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Content Disclaimer

TrialBase content is compiled from official regulatory sources for reference purposes only. It does not constitute legal or regulatory advice.

Always consult the original source documents (ICH guidelines, EU regulations, German national law) for authoritative text before making regulatory decisions. AI-generated summaries, cross-references, and Q&A responses may contain inaccuracies or omissions.

3. Description of Service

TrialBase provides an AI-compiled wiki of clinical trials regulations, including:

  • Structured articles compiled from ICH guidelines, EU Clinical Trials Regulation 536/2014, and German national legislation.
  • Cross-references between jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks.
  • Side-by-side comparison tables (e.g. ICH E6(R2) vs E6(R3)).
  • AI-powered question-and-answer feature using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Full-text search across all compiled content.

4. Accounts and Subscriptions

  • Free trial: New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features.
  • Paid subscriptions: After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription (Individual, Team, or Academic). Pricing is displayed at checkout.
  • Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Academic tier: Requires verification of an active academic email address (.edu, university domains).

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to bulk-download content from TrialBase without written permission.
  • Redistribute compiled wiki content commercially without attribution.
  • Use the Q&A feature to generate content that you represent as official regulatory guidance.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit security vulnerabilities (please report vulnerabilities responsibly to security@trialbase.app).

6. Intellectual Property

The original regulatory source documents (ICH guidelines, EU regulations, German laws) are the intellectual property of their respective issuing bodies. TrialBase’s compilations, summaries, cross-references, and comparison analyses are proprietary. Individual subscribers may use content for their professional work; redistribution requires a Team subscription or written permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TrialBase and its operator shall not be liable for:

  • Any regulatory decisions made based on information from the Service.
  • Inaccuracies, omissions, or delays in content updates following regulatory changes.
  • Service interruptions or data loss.
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Total aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Payment records are retained for 10 years as required by German tax law.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts of Munich shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes arising from these Terms, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
